Anthem District
South Tryon Street & Remount Road
(Charlotte, NC)
The Anthem District incorporates adaptive reuse of existing buildings for restaurant, bar, and retail uses, along with construction of a new luxury apartment community. Over a period of five years, Providence Group Capital assembled, and then entitled 15 separately owned parcels, which total over nine acres in the heart of one of the fastest growing submarkets in the United States. Following the acquisition and entitlement of the assemblage, Phase I of The Anthem District began with the re-development of a 1980’s era metal building formerly occupied by MAACO Auto Body Shop. After two years of renovations Monday Night Brewing opened their first location in North Carolina in June 2023 and has since established themselves as one of Charlotte’s top volume breweries.
Phase II of the Anthem District began in Summer 2022 with a partnership between Providence Group Capital and Hanover Company for the development of a 449-unit luxury apartment community, named Hanover South End, which will located on six of the assembled parcels totaling 4.1 acres. Construction of this luxury apartment community commenced in Fall 2022 and will complete in Spring 2025. Preleasing for the apartments will begin in Winter 2024. Phase III of the Anthem District will consist of nine separate existing buildings on approximately 3.75 acres and being marketed to a range of local, regional, and national restaurants, bars, and retailers. Marketing for Phase III kicked off in September 2024 and once completed, the two block long Anthem District will be one of the main social and living hubs in South End Charlotte.
